2. What is NOT eligible for funding?

The Foundation does not make grants for political purposes such as lobbying or propaganda. In addition, the Foundation does not accept proposals for:

  • Individuals
  • Endowments, annual fund appeals or fundraising events
  • Conferences, workshops
  • Sectarian religious concerns
  • Scholarships, fellowships, research, loans, or travel
  • Film or media projects
  • Publications

3. How do I know if my project or organization is eligible?

  • Your project or organization should closely match all the criteria outlined in the relevant program guidelines. If you have to alter your project or organization to fit the guidelines, it is likely we will not ask you to submit a proposal.
  • Applicants must be nonprofit organizations as classified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

4. Do you provide grants to individuals?

No.

5. What is an appropriate request amount? Is there a maximum grant size?

There is no maximum grant size. The amount that you request should be informed by your organizational budget, project budget, and expected income from other sources.

6. How can I submit a proposal?

The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals.

7. How can I get a grant application?

We first ask that you submit an inquiry letter of no more than three pages describing the mission of the organization and the purpose of the request.

8. Are there any deadlines? When are grants made?

Please see our program area pages since deadlines vary by program area. Grants are approved by the Board of Directors, usually in May and November. Grants are usually paid within two weeks of approval by the Board of Directors.
